The vision of this construction is to follow all Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) potential situations and to promote circularity, hence the name of the construction “The Cradle”. As the city’s first office building in timber and concrete hybrid. Timber-to-timber joints were created and tested prior to construction to ensure a C2C “plug & screw” instead of glue connection types. By using timber as the construction and interior design, the building has less of a CO2 footprint and reduces heat build-up within the building. The facade of the building also has a wooden structure that has changing depths depending on the orientation of the window. A larger depth occurs on the south and west sides to create a broad sun shading effect onto the window.
