greenTES Project Explores Fire Resistance of Prefabricated Timber Elements

The aim of the study here is to compare a wooden façade made of combustible building materials in compliance with building regulations – in accordance with the MHolzbauRL – and a thin-film photovoltaic façade with additional measures to prevent the spread of fire based on the MHolzbauRL.

Acknowledgments go to practice partners Gumpp & Maier GmbH and AVANCIS GmbH, as well as funding bodies including ZukunftBau, Bayrisches Staatsministerium for Food, Agriculture and Forestry, and others. This collaborative effort involves participants from TUM Chair of Building Technology, Fachhochschule Salzburg, and various industry experts, collectively pushing the boundaries of timber innovation in the realm of renovation.
