Currently architect and research associate working on building with hardwood and simply build strategies at TU Architect and founder of award-winning architecture practice, Gramazio & Kohler Research, Gramazio help set the precedence for combining advance architectural design and additive fabrication processes with industrial robots. With partner, Matthais Kohler, they opened the first architectural robotic laboratory at ETH Zurich and gave way to further development and research for digital architecture, ranging from 1:1 prototypes to robotically fabricated high-rises. Currently, Gramazio is focused on a future living and working laboratory for sustainable building construction by reducing transport during construction through ‘on-site factory’ concepts.
